My Life Story

My name is Nyla Irmamina Narag Person. I was named after 3 remarkable people in my life. Nyla came from Brother "Nyles Brady". He was the one who solemnzed the wedding of my parents. He also gave my mother her patriarchal blessing. He was a man of God. "Irma" is my mother's nickname. And Mina came from Sister SwaMINAtan. She was the wife of my mother's former boss in IRRI. My mother described her as a very smart and a generous person. Spiritual, Intellectual and Prosperous are the three qualities my mother wanted me to be.

I was born in the year of the dragon, 1988 on the 23rd of October in the historic town of Los Banos, Laguna. I spent my primary years in our humble home in Masiit, Calauan, Laguna. I grew up playing  with my neighbors and churchmates in the streets, ricefields and rice mills.  We loved to play different Filipino games such as Patintero, Chinese garter, sikyo and Langit Lupa. Sailor Moon and Ghost fighter were two of my most favorite anime cartoons.

My mother is Ediltrudis Mecaller Narag. She was born at V.Luna Hospital in Quezon City. Her father, Gumersindo Narag was from Rizal, Cagayan Valley while her Mother, Amparo Mecaller was from Nabua, Camarines Sur, Bicol. My grandparents met at Camp Crame in Quezon City where Lolo was stationed as an Army and Lola attended one of the activities they had there.
People often wonder why our last name is "Person". Yes, that is an american surname. My father was adopted by Bobby Person, a US Navy assigned to US Military Base in Pampanga while Grandma Josie worked there as a Nurse. His biological parents, Lolo Jacinto and Lola Valentina were both from Lucena City. They both died almost at the same time during my Father's teenage years due to health problems.
I have 4 beautiful sisters namely Iroal Joanne, Ivory Jane, Irene Joy, Valerie Jovy and a brother, Nephi Zenos.
