My name is Nyla Irmamina Narag Person Burgos. I was named after "Nyles Brady. The man who solemnized the wedding of my parents. He was a very spiritual person. "Irma" is my mother's nickname while "Mina" came from Sister "SwaMINAtan", the wife of my mother's former boss in IRRI. Mom told me she's a very smart and generous woman. "Mina" in English is "mine or richness".
Spiritual, Intellectual and Prosperous; these are what she wanted me to be.
I was born in the year of the dragon, 1988 on the 23rd of October in Calamba, Laguna. I have 4 beautiful, talented and amazing older sisters and an awesome brother. My passion for writing started when I was 8 years old. I started to express my feelings through poems and creative writing.
I love making friends. I am a member of the Hyperkadaz. A group we formed when we were in High School. We believe that our best asset is our very own identity.
I was raised in the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints, a.k.a. "the mormon". I have read the Book of Mormon several times and I know with all of my heart and soul that this book is a word of God. I earned my YW Womanhood Medallion before I turned 18 years. My Personal Progress Booklet taught me that real progression comes from knowing God and eventually becoming like Him. I gained a strong testimony of this religion by asking God through personal prayers. I testify that He answers and He cares. God's love is one eternal round. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
I attended 3 years of college at the University of the Philippines - Baguio & Los Banos Campuses. This institution taught me to love my country the Philippines. They had planted a seed of nationalism and patriotism in me.
I served my full-time mission in the Philippines Cebu Mission.
